Illness Policy

There are several requirements that I would like you to understand before booking:

Screening: 24 hours prior to your appointment, you will receive a reminder email asking if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 or other illness. *If you are experiencing any cold or flu like symptoms, even if you believe it is allergies, please do not come in!* While I appreciate notice, there will be no charge for last minute illness cancellations. Please stay home if you have any illness symptoms.

Face Masks: Starting April 3rd, 2023, Oregon will lift the face mask requirement in health care settings. For now, during your massage, I will continue to wear a face mask, which helps protect you. I am no longer requiring face masks for clients. However, if clients begin to come to their massages with illness symptoms, I may have to change this policy. Again, please do not come in if you are sick! For the TMJ Protocol, we will discuss the risks of intra-oral work on an individual basis.

Risks of Massage: Prior to booking, please understand the inherent risks of receiving (and giving) massage during an ongoing pandemic. It is impossible to practice social distancing during the close, prolonged contact of massage work. While I will do everything possible to keep our clinic clean and both of us safe, a certain number of people with illnesses are asymptomatic. If you have underlying health conditions and/or are over the age of 60, please reconsider whether receiving a massage is worth the risk at this time. As another option, you could book with my husband, Matt, for acupuncture, which has less contact: https://chehalemacupuncture.fullslate.com/

Waiting Room Changes: The waiting room will no longer have tea or reading materials available. Please bring your own water bottle. If possible, please come alone. If you need a ride, please have them wait outside. Hand sanitizer and face masks are available for your use. We have begun diffusing natural essential oils in the waiting room to aid in purification, I am happy to turn off the diffuser if you are sensitive to those scents.

Cleaning Procedures: Prior to and between appointments, I will clean all frequently touched surfaces including the bathroom. At the clinic, we are currently using a natural Seventh Generation anti-microbial cleaner that is approved for this use. This cleaner uses thyme oil to kill viruses and bacteria. We are hoping this lower-toxicity product will work well for our more sensitive patients and clients. As always, fresh clean linens are provided for each client.

Please Note: On Wednesdays from 1-8 pm from spring to fall, the Newberg Farmers Market now closes down College St. next to our clinic. Please leave extra time to find parking if you book on a Wednesday. It is possible that the Farmers Market will be noisy, so please also take this into account when scheduling.

Thank you so much for your consideration and understanding! I'm looking forward to seeing you soon!
